南非是世界最大的黄金产地。据统计,1981年45个选金厂共处理矿石近一亿吨,生产黄金645吨。35个大金矿共有雇员约35万人,地下开采深度绝大部分都在地表2000米以下。由于产量大、矿井深、地温高,在井巷掘进、通风降温、提升运输等方面,南非具有较高的技术水平。本文根据国外文献,编录世界金矿之最18则,供读者和有关同志参阅。
South Africa is the world’s largest gold producer. According to statistics, in 1981, 45 gold mills handled nearly 100 million tons of ore and produced 645 tons of gold. 35 large gold mines a total of about 350,000 employees, most of the underground mining depth of 2000 meters below the surface. Due to its large output, deep mines and high ground temperature, South Africa has a high level of technology in such aspects as tunneling, ventilation and cooling, and transportation enhancement.
