进口肉桂属樟科。我园于一九六七年自越南引种,据称为越南的清化肉桂。通过十余年来的试种,生长良好,结实正常,引种初获成功。该种与肉桂的植物形态相似,唯叶较大,嫩叶色较红。据广西植物研究所研究员李树刚鉴定,认为该种是肉桂的一个变型(Cinnamomum cassia BL.forma)。究竟是否就是越南的清化肉桂,限于标本不足,目前尚难最后确定。进口肉桂的皮、枝、果均可入药,以树皮的药用价值最大,有温中助阳、散寒止痛、温通经脉之功效。此外,也可作为化妆
