小说封面是一个包含文字、图像、印刷版式、布局和色彩的多模态意义整合体,它又与小说内容协同。本文在多模态功能文体分析框架(张德禄、穆志刚2012)的基础上,增加了印刷版式、布局和色彩等模态,提出一个分析封面多模态文体特征的路径。以英国当代作家格林海姆·洛雷的拼贴小说《女性世界》的两版封面为研究对象,按照这一分析路径对比小说两版封面的多模态文体特征、封面内部模态协同特征以及封面与小说内容和文体的协同关系。分析结果显示08版封面更能恰当表达小说内容、向读者传达小说中蕴含的深刻概念意义和人际意义。
Fiction cover is a multi-modal integration of text, images, typography, layout and color. It is also synergistic with the content of the novel. Based on the multi-modal functional stylistic analysis framework (Zhang Delu, Mu Zhigang 2012), this paper adds modalities such as typography, layout and color, and presents a way to analyze the stylistic features of cover multimodal. Taking the cover of the two editions of the novel “Female World” written by British contemporary writer Glenehem Lora as the research object, according to this analysis path, the author compares the multimodal stylistic features, Synergetic Relationship between Cover and Fictional Content and Style. The analysis shows that the 08 version of the cover is more appropriate to express the contents of the novel to convey to readers the profound conceptual and interpersonal meaning implied in the novel.
