The National Science Foundation, the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and the Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China jointly held the China-US Heat Transfer Project Development Conference. The conference took place from March 24 to March 25, 83 in Honolulu, USA. The background of this conference was: On January 31, 1979, the Chinese and U.S. governments signed an agreement on scientific and technological cooperation; on December 10, 1980, the U.S. Science Foundation signed a foundation with the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, and the Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China. The scientific cooperation protocol, which stipulates that cooperation includes archaeology, astronomy, earth science, and engineering science, etc., while engineering science includes heat transfer, fluid mechanics, and
