Since infantile signs and symptoms similar to those in patients with zinc deficiency are often seen, the authors investigated the nutritional status of zinc intake in normal infants. A total of 119 healthy infants, aged 1 to 12 months old, were collected and the hair samples were collected at about 200 mg and determined by atomic absorption spectrophotometry. Another 308 normal full-term infants were selected, and the zinc content was also determined within the first three days of their birth as the base value.
