THE widow and daughter of the late Soviet pilot Grigori Akimovich Kulishenko were invited to China in 1958 to visit Kulishenko’s tomb and also to attend the October 1 National Day holiday celebrations.Chinese Premier Zhou Enlai told them:“The Chinese people will always remember Grigori Kulishenko.”During WWII many international friends like Kulishenko traveled thousands of miles to China to help defend its people against Japanese aggression.
