To date, in Nigeria, male writers have opened the door to almost every literary style and branch, with the exception of detective novels created in English. Contrary to the critique of some critics of Nigerian detective novels, Adura Ursula has instead become a pioneer in the creation of detective novels in English and is by far the only writer of the genre of female detective fiction in Nigeria. She has written five novels: “You Do not Know Many Things” (1970) and the sequel “Many Things Change” (1971), and “Harry’s Night Night” (1974). Four years after silence, “Who is Jonah?” And “Saham Coming” have been published in 1978. The first four sections show that the author is attaching more importance to detective work and to the peak of her detective writing. The last piece of work, from our point of view, is by no means a detective piece, but rather a mysterious novel, even though the image of the police is strong and powerful.
