Barbara King Solver’s novel Animal Dreams is a story about memory and amnesia. From the traumatic memory, cultural memory and ecological memory, the thesis analyzes the unique perspective of hero Coty’s self-construction: the traumatic memory of Coty lost his mother helps to re-recognize her relationship with the past and the future; the cultural memory promotes Coty Self-identity and group identity; ecological memory awakens the natural sense of belonging to the heart of Coti, in the memory of Cody back once the self-love of nature, and actively into the home environment justice movement.
