This year marks the 70th anniversary of the victory of the World Anti-Fascist War and the Chinese People’s War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression. When I returned to visit relatives in Beijing in July, I interviewed the old Red Army. When General Li Yuan, former vice minister of the General Logistics Department, asked him the most memorable battle during the Anti-Japanese War, He talked to me about fighting father and son. Fight between father and son took place on April 26, 1940, at which time Li Yuan was the first battalion of the New Fourth Army, the 2nd Battalion and 4 company commanders, and personally experienced the entire process of fighting. In late April 1940, more than 10,000 troops were dispatched by troops stationed in Nanjing, Wuhu, Tongling and other places invaded China to carry out an unprecedented scale operation in southern Anhui
