审美与我们的日常生活有着紧密的联系，从发生学角度对原始艺术进行深入探讨有着重大的时代意义。学界对原始艺术的审美发生学说大致可从五个方面作出整体把握：一是生物学角度，二是劳动说角度，三是巫术、图腾说角度，四是心理学角度，五是生命美学的角度。
