For small companies, polyester raw materials are generally considered to be sliced or PTA/DMT primary particles and monoethylene glycol (MEG). They have traditionally been treated as P-xylene and ethylene/ethylene oxide raw materials. In the past 10 years, only in late 1988 and 1989, due to the supply of ethylene/ethylene oxide, the supply capacity of MEG could not be achieved, the supply of P-xylene and PTA became tight, and the price rose. In the past five years, PTA/DMT has been on the rise, causing P-Xylene to be tense throughout the year in 1995, which has restricted the production of PTA/DMT in 1996. At present, the production capacity of MEG is not a problem. The large amount of new US demand for MEG in the next five years and the demand for PET packaging materials in Europe will be greatly increased
