秦州,即今甘肃天水市,是华夏文明的主要发祥地之一,有“羲皇故里”之称。据《禹贡》记载,夏商时期天下分九州,秦州属雍州地。春秋战国时期,秦州属邽县,是我国最早设立的县。三国魏黄初元年(220)置秦州,分陇右置秦州,始有秦州之名。清代将秦州升为直隶州,治所在秦州,1913年置天水县。秦州是古丝绸之路上的交通重镇,经过秦州的张家川回族自治县、清水、秦安、甘谷、武山都处在这一主干线上,亭、驿设置较多,邮驿往来
Qinzhou, now Tianshui City, Gansu Province, is one of the major cradles of the Chinese civilization. It is known as “Xihuang Hometown”.
