They hope to build a space on top of the original building, so that the sea can be viewed more clearly and intuitively. But they do not want to spoil their original loving cottage in order to build this space, so they hope Austin Maynard Architects’ design team can come up with a two-pronged design for them. The final decision is to design the new volume into a “wooden box” structure, and separate it from the original building. The newly added “wooden box” wraps wooden slats on the outside and a wooden structure on the inside that fits perfectly into the surrounding natural environment, while the outer layers of wood gradually emerge as time passes
