师范专科学校的《英语教学大纲》中明文规定:师范高等专科学校英语专业的学生通过三年学习,“说话”能力要求达到:1)、能就一般日常生活和社会生活同英语国家人士交谈;2)、能就熟悉的题材略作准备后作5分钟的连贯讲话;3)、能用英语进行中学英语课内外教学活动。但是,笔者多年来一直注意到这样一个事实:不少在校英语学生,尽管他们一天到晚和英语打交道,却偏偏在口语关上卡壳;有的学生在单词竞赛或英语百科知识竞赛中获得优胜名次,却无法用英语有效地进行日常交流;不少英语毕业生,尽管他们已获得了一定的语言知识,并以合格的成绩毕业,却无法用英语流畅地表达自己的思想,无法用英语进行中学英语课堂教学。笔者曾对约180名中学英语教师进行过摸底调查,完全能用英语上课的只有8人,占总人数的4.4%。这180名中学教师中有专科毕业生,也有本科生。上述问题的存在说明我们的英语教学还存在一定的问题,而这个问题是出在课堂上的50分钟上,还是我们国内的英语教学体制出了问题呢?这无疑是我们每个英语教师热衷于讨论的话题。
Teachers College English Teaching Syllabus expressly provides that: English majors in normal colleges and universities through three years of study, “speaking” ability to achieve the required: 1), can talk about ordinary daily life and social life with English-speaking countries; 2) Able to make a 5-minute coherent speech after preparing a familiar theme; 3) Able to use English to carry out teaching activities both inside and outside English class. However, I have been aware of the fact that for many years, many English-language students at school, though they dealt with English all day long, have chosen to shut up their jargon in oral English. Some students have won prizes in word competitions or English encyclopedic contests , But can not communicate effectively in English everyday. Many English graduates, although they have gained a certain degree of language knowledge and graduated with satisfactory results, can not express themselves in English fluently and can not conduct secondary schools in English English classroom teaching. The author conducted a thorough survey of about 180 middle school English teachers. Only 8 people were able to complete classes in English, accounting for 4.4% of the total. Among these 180 secondary school teachers are college graduates and undergraduates. The existence of these problems shows that our English teaching there are still some problems, and this question is out in the classroom for 50 minutes, or our domestic English teaching system is a problem?
