Maintenance hemodialysis (MHD) is one of the major renal replacement therapies in patients with end-stage renal failure, and the importance of weight control compliance in patients with dialysis quality is of particular importance. Compliance is defined as the patient’s compliance with clinical practice after seeking medical advice, including taking medication, regular outpatient reviews, and changing unhealthy lifestyles. Motivational interviewing (MI) is an instructive, patient-centered approach to human communication that helps patients discover and overcome their ambivalence and thus lead to behavioral changes. In 1983, Dr. Miller First proposed in the study of wine, and later developed into a system theory, is increasingly used in chronic disease management. This article aims to evaluate the effect of MI intervention on weight management compliance in patients with MHD.
