中国传统的英语教学比较习惯于“逐句串讲,逐句翻译”,而忽视课堂提问.我们认为,课堂提问不仅是一种重要的交际手段,而且也是一种有效的教学方法,应该把它贯穿于英语教学的始终。著名的外语教学法专家希顿(J.B.Healon),根据布卢姆(Bloom)对问题的分类法,提出在外语教学中行之有效、由浅入深的五类问题。这五类问题是: 1.记忆问题(Recall questions) 2.理解问题(Comprehension questions) 3.应用问题(Application questions) 4.创造性问题(Invention questions) 5.评价问题(Evaluation questions) 现以高中课本第一册第1课“How Marx Learned Foreign Languages”为例,我们谈谈如何使用课堂提问(五类问题)这一教学方法。
Chinese traditional English teaching is more accustomed to “sentence-by-sentence, sentence-by-sentence translation,” and ignoring classroom questions. We believe that classroom questioning is not only an important means of communication, but also an effective teaching method. It should be used throughout. Teaching English as always.
