After nearly two months of concerted efforts, the epidemic of atypical pneumonia has now been initially controlled. What is particularly gratifying is that due to the strong measures, the atypical pneumonia epidemic did not appear to have the greatest fear of spreading to rural areas. This achievement has not come easily. Because the majority of rural areas in China are relatively speaking to cities, medical and health resources are much less. Whether it is hardware construction, human resources, or capital investment, there is a big gap between them and cities. With relatively weak health resources to prevent the spread of the SARS epidemic, the efforts and sacrifices made by various localities are self-evident. At present, how to translate this state of emergency into daily work, improve the overall health care of rural residents, and turn crisis into a turning point are more important tasks that we are about to face.
