Jane Austen (1775-1817) is an important writer in the history of British literature and has contributed greatly to English novels. She inherited Richardson’s realistic tactics of depicting the psychological activities of characters and Fielding’s satire on irrational phenomena. She portrayed a vivid portrait of middle-class British rural families from the late eighteenth century to the early nineteenth century Life picture. She developed theatrical novels, solved the problems that can not be solved by writers such as James and Dickens, created circular figures and broke the tradition of the positive characters in the history of Western literature. Her objective description is also the first in British history. Her contribution to female novels is even more unprecedented. She is reputed to be the mother of a British novel forever known in the Shakespearean world.
