UV irradiation (320-400 nm) after oral administration of 8-methoxy psoralen (8-MOP) for about 2 hours has been increasingly used to treat psoriasis. The plasma concentration of 8-MOP is closely related to the photosensitivity of the skin. Since many of the pharmacokinetic properties are influenced by food, the authors studied the kinetics of food on 8-MOP.
