王船山将文学的《诗》学研究思想和方法引入诗歌批评中,在诗话中以《诗》论诗,把《诗》作为诗歌创作的典范,对诗歌发生的目的论、过程论、情感论等方面进行了阐释,从《诗经》中引申出诗歌创作的一般规律,成为清代诗歌批评史上经学与文学互动的典型代表。研究王船山诗话与《诗》学之间互动的关系,了解其诗话对宋明《诗》学的继承和批判思想,不但可以全面地探究王夫之的诗学思想,更可以进一步了解中国诗学史的发展轨迹。
