对于大学英语四级的学生说来,要用英语写好一篇记叙文,除选材得当,中心思想明确外,保持文章的联贯性,逻辑性也是十分重要的。要使文章思路清晰,转折自然,除采用代词,重复词语、并列结构外,我认为,在句子间、段落间恰当地使用一些承上启下的连词和词组是非常必要的。这些词语在英语中叫作transitional words(过渡词)。我们可根据句子需要及这些词的用法,将它们置于句首、句中或句未,但大多数情况置于句中。常用的过渡词一般可分为下面几种:
