9月8～10日,国家科技部在京召开初评会议,分6个领域评审已经预审的74个项目,最终按领域根据得分高低排出顺序。各领域前6个项目(资源环境领域为前7个项目)共计37项将进入综合评审。另外,1998年确定的10项“培植项目”将直按进入综合评审,即总共47个项目。国家科技部宣布,综合评审将从47项中选出35项作为1999年度起动项目,较原计划增加10项。综合评审时间为10月上旬。材料项目初评排序如下表。
