浸泡在社会文化和意识形态中的空间和身体,总是承载着不同文化和权力暗潮汹涌的角逐的。在文学的想象中,不同的空间隐喻着不同的身体存在方式,家压抑着身体的声音,但表征着精神创伤的身体却无法沉默;女性的空间虽允许身体的略显喧嚣的自言自语,却是一个不能长久的乌托邦幻想;性别空间中的身体只能作为肉体而存在着,精神只能被献祭给道德律例。用刘小枫的话来说,林白“讲述了个人经历的生命故事,通过个人经历的叙述提出关于生命感觉的问题,营构具体的道德意识和伦理诉求”。
