In 1951, one of the 13th Corps of the Second Army, a 12th Division of the Eighth Route Army, was renamed by the 120th Division of the Eighth Route Army and the 1597th Corps of the Eighth Route Army. It was ordered by the resident Kuqa North Vietnamese Tianshan to join the counter-insurgency bandits in the Yili area. After the rampant pacifist bandit quickly subsided, the thirteen regiment’s warriors carried out large-scale production campaigns on the spot. After the establishment of the Corps, it has developed into the current four-seventy-one missions and seventy-two missions. This unit played an extremely important role in the process of building the Party’s political foundation and the establishment of the four divisions in the Yili area. During the period of the Anti-Japanese War, this unit also repeatedly won outstanding achievements and made a positive contribution to the eventual victory of the war of resistance.
