From the early 1970s, our long distance runners have consistently achieved outstanding results and won prizes in national and international competitions. In particular, the less well-conditioned athlete Fang Nishun won the Championships in the 1988 East Asian Track and Field Championships with the winner of the last 1,000 meters with a 2’45 “6 sprint and a full 30% 16 ”6 (then ranked fifth in the country) surprising. In March 1980, he again won the second prize at the Hefei National Spring Marathon with a second grade of 18 hours and 48 seconds in two hours, arousing people’s deep thought. Of particular interest to me is the split time between these two races. (See Table 1, Table II)
