I. INTRODUCTION In the early 1980s, many researchers predicted that diamond coated tools will find wide application. However, for the current development, practical diamond coating tools have not yet been manufactured. To this end, the diamond coating tool research in the world’s advanced industrial countries are still ongoing. Japan’s Sumitomo Electric Industries Special Materials Division using a separate CVD diamond brazing body in the process, developed a new type of CVD diamond coated tool. Tests showed that this CVD diamond coated tool life of about 10 times the carbide tool, the cutting performance and life expectancy and PCD tool is very similar. This article is
