Catcher in the Rye is the only novel by American writer Jerome David Salinger. The novel portrays the growth story of a young, well-to-be-struck young Holden Coughfield. In this novel, Salinger characterizes the psychological characteristics of young people and the growing confusion that has prevailed during their growth.
