由于受主力层系井网需要,油水井难以转向其它层生产或注水,同时报废井逐年增多、油水井措施实施时间不同步、更新完善新井难以落实的原因,导致了有些非主力层系和土豆砂体难以在现有井况和井网条件下建立起良好的注采关系,一方面造成了油水井注采对应关系单一或低效生产,另一方面是造成了水驱储量的损失。为此,提出了油水一体管柱的设计构想,以期起到增加注水点和注水方向、改善土豆砂体注水开发效果、增加水驱储量等作用,实现一井多用的效果。
