After the Second World War two of the most important Commonwealth countries in the Southwest Pacific - Australia and New Zealand - concluded a tripartite alliance with the United States and Britain was excluded from the alliance with Australia and the United States. The decline of Britain’s own power led to its gradual marginalization in defense arrangements in the Far East and the Pacific. The British proposal to conclude a wide-ranging Pacific defensive deal was once again cold-hearted in the United States. The United Kingdom never really considered the United States a strategy Opponent, but a partner or even a strategic object of help. All this led to her finally reluctantly accepted the reality of tripartite alliance.
