Intel recently announced a single-board computer for real-time process control, production supervision and control and data acquisition in industry and in the lab. The new ISBC88 / 40 single-board computer uses very large scale integrated circuit (VLSI) processes to create a highly integrated digital and analogue on a single board. The 88/40 actually achieved the performance that at least three boards needed to accomplish a few years ago. On this machine 8088 processor allows users of the new single-board machine to replace the new processing circuit three times faster than the other eight-bit processor can be updated simultaneously in the 200 nanosecond 16 with the traditional PID algorithm Control loop.
