Quality education focusing on cultivating innovative spirit and practical ability is the main theme of today’s education reform. Classroom teaching is the main front for cultivating students’ innovative spirit and practical ability. The 2011 edition of “English Curriculum Standards” points out that English courses in compulsory education have the dual nature of instrumentality and humanity. In terms of instrumentality, the English language curriculum undertakes the tasks of developing students ’basic English accomplishment and developing students’ thinking ability.
