适龄荔枝(15~20年生)“花而不实”、落花落果及产量低、低而不稳的现象,是多年来悬而未决的生产问题.不同浓度硼(B)处理的结果表明:缺B影响荔枝授粉受精,造成早期落花落果.喷施B0.2~0.4%、B0.2%+KH_2PO_40.2%和地施B4~5两/株能提高荔枝叶片中B、N、叶绿素含量及单果重量,显著提高荔枝单株产量.B能促进荔枝花粉萌发和花粉管生长,有利于受精及提高座果率.
