在过去的十年内,对文人画的研究得到了空前的重视,这不但表现在频频召开的国际会议上,也表现在大量发表的论文和著作中,在这些出版物中,黄专和严善錞先生合著的《文人画的趣味、图式与价值》无疑是功力深湛的著作之一.正如出版者在介绍中所说的:“文人画作为中国绘画史上的奇特现象,有着别具一格的历史依据,本书围绕着文人画运动中价值、趣味与图式间的关系,分别从艺术自律性研究和社会学描述两个方面着手,提出了自己富于创见性的新看法.”遗憾的是此书出版已近七年之久,至今迄无反响,倒是一些空泛的游谈之作风行不衰,就文人画研究的繁盛景象而言不能不令人有悲凉之慨.
