Congressman Henry Waxman is an advocate for the environment, calling it “the most anti-environmental parliament in history.” These perceived attacks have prompted the House Energy and Commerce Commission, under the chairmanship of Wachsman, to develop a database online to track the number and scope of anti-environmental proposals put forward by the House of Representatives. According to the database’s retrieved data, as of September 2011, the Republican majority parliament has cast 170 votes against environmental regulation. Among them, the vast majority of anti-environmental control votes are directed at the Environmental Protection Agency (91 votes), while others seek to prevent pollution (71 votes) and others explicitly want to abolish the Clean Air Act ) (61 votes). Still other measures are for weakness
