铁北矿井位于扎赉诺尔煤田的西北部,行政区隶属于内蒙古自治区呼伦贝尔盟满州里市扎赉诺尔区.井田走向长4.5km,倾斜宽3.0km,面积13.5km~2.本区地面平坦,煤系地层均赋存于第四系流沙层之下.流沙层厚10~25m,各煤层露头直接与该层接触.井田内共有6层可采煤层,平均总厚度为26.82m,其中Ⅱ_(2a)、Ⅱ_(3b)为全区可采煤层,平均厚度分别为5.9m和5.7m,其余则为局部可采煤层.各煤层厚度变化规律是由浅至深逐渐变厚,由西向东逐渐分叉变薄.井田内煤层为一单斜构造,倾角一般为5~10°.各煤层按层间距变化可分为上、下两个层组,上层组以开采Ⅱ_(2a)层为主,其深部境界标高在+200~+220m左右,下层组则以开采Ⅱ_(3b)为主,其深部境界标高在+160m左右,各煤层厚度及层间距变化见表1.

The elevation of the deep boundary is about + 160m. Table 1 shows the variation of thickness and interlayer spacing of each seam.
