冬麦在六盘山区隆德县麦类作物中占有一定的比重。由于它比春麦稳产高产,近几年来,播种面积不断扩大。1972年全县播种冬麦6.8万亩,虽然当年秋墒差,冬季干旱雨雪少,翌年又遭百年罕见的大旱,但冬麦仍获得了较好的收成,实收面积达到5.3万余亩。山河公社二滩三队最高亩产达到663斤;城关公社红崖大队300亩冬麦,平均亩产325.7斤。在党的“十大”精神鼓舞下,今年全县掀起了种好冬麦的新高潮,冬麦播种面积扩大到8万多亩,同时落实了各项增产
