《中国标准刊号》最近由国家技术监督局批准,自今年7月1日起在全国实施。我国报刊编号以往没有统一标准,形成了多种非标准编号体系,一本刊物上就并存有邮局发行代号、对外发行代号、各省市自治区报刊登记号等,给科学管理和对外交流带来很大困难。随着计算机的推广使用,现在已具备了统一编号的条件。《中国标准刊号》这项国家标准的实施,将使在我国登记的每种报刊的每个版本都只有一个唯一的标准号码,为我国报刊的出版、发行、收藏、利用等各个环节的科学管理和现代化技术的应用创造了条件。《中国标准刊号》是由全国文献工作标准化技术委员会出版委员会(归口在新闻出版署)组织起草的。 1989年2月15日《新闻出版报》张振威报道 “China Standard Serial Number” recently approved by the State Bureau of Technical Supervision, since July 1 this year in the country.
