近年来,灌区小麦“坐苗”连年发生,面积逐年扩大。1974年,中卫、平罗、陶乐等县发生坐苗。1977年坐苗更普遍,不仅生产水平低下的三类田,连生产水平稳定的一、二类田与老旱田也有发生。据我们在灌区各县市调查,一般坐苗占小麦面积的10%,重者达30%。如平罗县15个公社坐苗5.2万亩,占小麦面积的25.6%,头闸公社东通平大队1900亩小麦,坐苗1000亩,占50%以上。
