宝钢3号高炉(4350m~3)于1994年9月20日投产后,因设备故障频繁、冷却系统存在缺陷以及操作参数的调整与生产条件不相适应等,炉况长期不稳。1997年6~9月,通过采取调整布料档位、合理扩大矿石批重、控制鼓风动能、测试并调整基准料线以及稳定高煤比操作等,高炉边缘气流得到适当发展,煤气流分布更加合理,炉况变得稳定顺行,消除了炉温波动现象,高炉各项技术经济指标改善。1997年9~11月,高炉焦比为315.7kg/t,煤比达145.6kg/t,利用系数达1.834。
