Since the world-wide energy crisis in the early 1970s, energy has become an increasingly prominent problem. Countries have begun to invest a lot of manpower and resources to conduct research. With the maturity of modern mathematical tools such as linear programming and optimal control theory, people began to make scientific predictions and judgments on the planning, development, rational use of energy, and its impact on social politics and economic life. The discipline of energy system engineering has gradually entered the stage of practical application from the research stage. Starting in the mid-1970s, Western developed countries represented by the United States began to study large-scale energy economic models and have already established energy plans in certain countries.
