随着时光流逝,那揪心的童年往事渐渐淡远,但战士作家高玉宝依旧牵动着广大读者的心。高玉宝祖籍山东,1927年出生于辽宁。1947年,高玉宝参加了中国人民解放军。平津战役之后,高玉宝萌生了把自己亲身遭遇和党对他的恩情写出来的念头。在南下途中,他利用战斗间隙写书。终于用一年零五个月时间,写出了20多万字的自传体长篇小说《高玉宝》。其中《半夜鸡叫》、《我要读书》等章节,被编入我国小学课本。有21个国家和地区,用15种文字出版
