With NASA’s efforts, Landsat-2 finally regained its posture control and returned to work in early May. As the satellite’s yaw-controlled momentum wheel stopped its work in November last year, it had “retired” in January of this year after five years of work. After its retirement, Godad Space Flight Center embarked on a bold attempt to control the satellite’s attitude by using the magnetic moment created by the interaction between satellites and the geomagnetic field.
