本文简要介绍William O’GRADY的不涉及普遍语法的先天论。该理论认为,普遍(或认知)先天论和联结主义的区别在于它承认等级结构符号表征的存在,并认为这是语言理论的一部分,能解释语言为什么是现有的样子,并且解释先天习得机制存在并决定着语言习得。同时,它也区别于语法先天论,否定先天机制的语法成分特性。作为一种语言习得观,对我们语言教学和习得有一定借鉴意义。
This article briefly introduces William O’GRADY’s innate theory that does not involve universal grammar. The theory holds that the difference between universal (or cognitive) innate theory and connectiveism lies in its recognition of the existence of the symbolic representation of the hierarchical structure and the belief that it is part of the theory of language that explains why the language is the existing one and explains the pre-existing The mechanism exists and determines the language acquisition. At the same time, it also differs from grammatical innate theory, which negates the grammatical features of innate mechanism.
