Hepatocyte growth factor or hepatocyte proliferation is a number of primitive biological, nutritional and chemical substances that stimulate the proliferation of hepatocytes. It is important for hepatology to confirm and understand the role of hepatoproliferation. Research over the past decade has strongly suggested that circulating blood has at least three peptides, insulin, glucagon and epidermal growth factor, that physiologically stimulate hepatocyte proliferation and support the hypothesis that synergistic humoral effects control hepatocyte proliferation. Adult hepatocytes are essentially “quiescent,” containing only trace amounts of M-phase hepatocytes (1/2000) and a small amount of S-phase hepatocytes
