贾作光,满族。1923年4月生于沈阳。中共党员。自幼喜爱舞蹈。1947年参加内蒙古文工团,学习蒙古族、鄂温克族等民族舞。毕业于北京舞蹈学校前苏联专家执教的舞蹈编导班。数十年来创作了《牧马舞》、《鄂伦春舞》、《马刀舞》、《牧民见到毛主席》、《鄂尔多斯舞》、《鹰舞》等大量作品,有的已经成为中国民间舞的保留节目。《鄂尔多斯舞》、《挤奶员舞》等许多作品,分别 Jia Zuoguang, Manchu.
