On 11 June, the “Integrated Panel” of the advisory body of the United States Presidential Office submitted a report on manned lunar and Mars exploration to the National Space Council (NSC), stating explicitly that the atomic energy propulsion program should be used on Mars probes and not Re-use the previously considered aerodynamic deceleration. The report covers four exploration options and will select a manned Mars exploration flight from 2014 to 2016.
