Objective To evaluate the role of the two in maintaining the length of the dental arch and masticatory function after wearing precast and wire-wound gap retainers for premature loss of bilateral deciduous molars. Methods Forty patients with premature rupture of the bilateral primary molars were randomly divided into experimental group and control group. Casting gap retainers were used in the experimental group, and traditional wire-wound gap retainers were used in the control group. The chewing efficiency of patients before and after wearing And the incidence of crowding in the premolar area, and paired t-test was used for statistical analysis. Results Early premature loss of bilateral deciduous molars wearing cast-type gap retainer, chewing efficiency was significantly improved (P <0.01). Conclusion Casting gap retainers should be used for premature loss of deciduous molars, which can significantly improve the chewing function while effectively maintaining the dental arch length.
