剧场版是日本动画按传播方式分类的一种,取材于TV动画,可根据需要临时加入一些非TV剧情角色,通常片长为90分钟,在影院公映。《哆啦A梦》《蜡笔小新》《龙珠》《名侦探柯南》《数码宝贝》《奥特曼》《海贼王》《犬夜叉》《火影忍者》《死神》《圣斗士星矢》《美少女战士》《灌篮高手》《城市猎人》《高达》等大量经典动画片都已被拍摄为剧场版,有些甚至多达数十部。本年度,由汤山邦彦导演的《口袋妖怪:就决定是你了》和静野孔文导演的《名侦探柯南:唐红的恋歌》将在日本公映。
