Vibrio cholerae is biochemically related to two biotypes of Vibrio cholerae (classical biotypes and El Tor biotypes), but not to Oi antisera. This report of a Vibrio caused diarrheal diseases is on the rise in Asia and elsewhere and found to be widespread in water and seafood.
