According to the survey data and historical data of professional shrimp trawl, the quantitative distribution and quantity change of shrimp in the East China Sea were studied. The results showed that the average annual catch rate of Japanese shrimp was 65.9g / h in summer and 136.5g / h, followed by spring, autumn and winter are lower. In winter and spring, Japanese shrimp are mainly distributed in the sea area of 26 ° 00 ’~ 28 ° 00’N with dense centers located in the depth of 100 m. The distribution of Japanese shrimp was found throughout the survey area in summer and autumn. The catch rate at the top station was above 1000 g / h, mainly in the summer and distributed in the Yangtze Estuary and Wutai fishery areas. The highest available resource of shrimp was 1360.6 tons in the entire survey area, down 45% from 2485 tons in the mid-1980s. Also discussed the main reason for the decline in Japanese shrimp resources and the main ways to restore shrimp resources in Japan.
